OBITUARY
It is with deep sorrow that we inform the demise of Dr R Sashidharan, Consultant Anaesthetist, Bart’s and the Royal London NHS Trust and Bernard Johnson advisor to the Royal College of Anaesthetists, UK.
He graduated from Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo and had his anaesthetic training in UK.
He delivered the BS Perera oration in January 2008 and has contributed at many an academic sessions and workshops of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Sri Lanka.
His most important contribution to Sri Lanka was to arrange rotations for the postgraduate trainees in Anaesthesia to complete their overseas training. A total of 21 trainees from Sri Lanka have had the benefit of joining the Barts and the Royal London rotation. As the Bernard Johnson advisor to the RCOA he ensured that all other trainees who worked in the UK got their due recognition.
His wife Kalashini lives at 9, Rose Court, Islington Green, London N1 2XR.
